Engineering identifies, documents and reviews for accuracy all design inputs and outputs. All design output is approved by Engineering.
Sources for design input include customer specifications, contractual requirements, applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, design review minutes, and any other applicable documents.
Output data is generated throughout the life of the project, from initiation through customer acceptance. This data documents the final configuration of the end item. Our process for making sure that design output meets all requirements includes:
- Ensure that design input is defined by the customer.
- Ensure delivery to the customer of any design output certifications/documentation that are required.
- Ensure design input criteria are feasible and acceptable.
- Resolve with the customer any ambiguous or conflicting design requirements.
- Provide all initial, and any changed design input, to all affected functional groups.
- Ensure compliance to defined customer requirements throughout the life of the project.
- Initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for any changes to originally defined design input and maintain documented evidence of all such changes.
