MECO designs and constructs its own Centurbo™ centrifugal compressors specifically for the stills we manufacture. Customers of MECO Centurbo compressors benefit from improvements in design like the LLSS that is suited specifically for the industries we serve. We control the quality, reliability, maintenance and service aspects of this vital component. By manufacturing our own compressors, we also insure that parts and upgrades are available throughout the life of this system.
We design our compressors to optimize vapor flow while minimizing the operating load on the motor. Over time, the maintenance and utility savings associated with MECO's design translates into big savings for our customers. To protect the motor and drive that powers the compressor, MECO offers a "Soft Start" feature on larger size distillation plants.
This gradual ramp up (10-15 seconds) of the drive system reduces peak electrical requirements on the motor, and extends the life of the compressor and its drive system. With a MECO Centurbo™ compressor, the pure vapor comes in contact with all stainless steel and inconel surfaces from the volute housing down through the final suction connection. This design is just one of many features that insures high quality contact surfaces are maintained throughout the process.
MECO provides direct service on all our compressors in the expedient fashion our customers expect. Our compressors are designed to be compact in size, making them easy to handle and less susceptible to imbalance. MECO compressors are installed directly on the evaporator eliminating the need for external ducting and creating a sound buffer for the unit. Rigorous testing is performed on each compressor prior to being installed in the evaporator, where it is tested again with the system as a whole. MECO's Compressor Exchange Program provides an added assurance that when there is a problem, a replacement is readily available.
